are 73799 employees in Srem district or 24% of the total inhabitants.

we look at the employment structure through the economy fields, industry
and mining are at the first place with 34% of total employment then
agriculture with 10%. The employees who have their own business present
37,5% of total employment in economy.

Gross
domestic product in Srem district contributes gross domestic product
in SR Yugoslavia with 3,64%, Republic of Serbia 4,03%,and in AP
Vojvodina with 12,79%.

The most
important contribution in gross domestic of Srems district is product
of Sremska Mitrovica with 31,09%, then community of Ruma with 20,82%,
then community of Stara Pazova with 15,27%, Šid with 11,16%, Inđija
with 10,72%, Pećinci with 6,12% and Irig with 4,37%. |

industry and mining with 24,1%, then trading with 12,4%, architecture

with 24,91%, then processing of paper and cellulose with 22,77%
, processing of caoutchouc with 12, 70% production of leather footwear
with 7,14%. These four branches are 67,42% of physical industrial
production in Srem region.
Production of transport means with 5,43%, production of lumber with
5,04%, production of final textile products 4,39%, production of
leather and fur with 3,86%, and printing industry with 2,48%.
